The Kamikaze drive pedal is best thought of as an "extension of the amp." It creates an overdriven sound using carefully selected op-amps, and avoids the use of a diode clipping circuit, which can create unnatural compression and clipping, and induce delay. 

As a result, the pedal faithfully reproduces the nuances of your playing, and delivers a broad sound as if playing directly though the amp. To minimize delay and sound degradation, the circuit design has been made as compact and simple as possible.
