The story of this pedal begins when a customer brought a certain fuzz pedal for repair to Mr. Takagi, the builder of KATANASOUND pedals. The pedal in question was a "Big Muff Pi" from the 70s, and one transistor had failed in it. Despite the failed component, the pedal had a curiously fantastic sound nonetheless.

The Thundercloud pedal was born to reconstruct the sound of this "wonderful sonic accident", after careful analysis and measurement of the original circuit. There is less distortion in the Thundercloud than in the original, but there is a lot of sustain. It makes a roar, but it has a well balanced, sweet and rich midrange.

This pedal is packed with the "Big Muff" sound more than you would suspect!
